As one of the Good Play Guide’s Ambassadors we are gifted a range of toys which you will see over on my Instagram Page. Our favourites will be featured here on the Autism Page Blog so I can tell you more about them. This week I am sharing one of our new sensory play toys that we are really enjoying. The classic Super Sand set.

What comes in the kit?
The kit includes a plastic play tray so you can contain the sand play. This is a big plus for me when it comes to tidying up. It also contains 400g of sand and 5 moulds.

There are 6 moulds in the kit. A cube, a cone, 2 half spheres and 2 half cylinders. The moulds are bright and colourful and have different textures on them which makes for great sensory play.

The sand is very similar to kinetic sand in how it holds together well but much more like real sand in its texture. It is really tactile and great fun to get your hands in. I felt the sand itself was really good quality compared to others we have tried before.

How Did We Get On?
I really liked how easy it was to use the moulds with the sand and the boys (8 & 6) both managed to make a variety of shapes and builds. They did spend most of the time then squashing what they had built but loved the feel of the sand while they were doing this. Super Sand was a real winner with both boys and makes for a brilliant messy play activity.
I am a big fan of sensory play and it is something both my boys get a lot out of. This is a lovely set that is great for young sensory seekers. Super Sand classic is available from The Good Play Guide.
This is reminiscent of sands alive that comes in a variety of colors, etc. That tray looks rather small, did they manage to truly keep it contained? That would have proven quite challenging for my crew unless I had a tray for each of them. We do love these sensory toys and experiences, though! Thanks for co-hosting with me! #KCACOLS

They did keep it contained but they were supervised so not sure how it would go if left alone! Sensory toys are always the best in out house
Something very satisfying about playing with sand. Even now at my age. #KCACOLS
