So Slime DIY kindly gifted us their new Scented So Slime Glam parfum to try out. I was interested to see if the boys would be interested in the different smells as it adds another sensory element to slime play.
We love messy sensory play and thankfully for me there was very little mess involved with this slime. So Slime Glam DIY is a new collection of beauty and scented slimes.
So Slime Glam
In the parfum set the stylish shakers are designed to look like perfume bottles. This is a really nice touch, not one my boys were particularly bothered by but I know my nieces will be very impressed with.
The set included:
- 3 shaker pots shaped like perfume bottles
- 3 scented slime powders, which were different colours
- 3 bags of decorations
Making the Slime
Making the slime was my 6 year olds favourite bit. It is a really simple process which is easy to follow. As he is non-verbal I used the pictures on the back of the packaging to help guide him through the process visually.
He put the powder into the pot, added water and gave it a little stir. Then put the lid back on to give it a shake.
I gave it a good extra shake myself as they do need a good 30 seconds of shaking for a good result.
After this you need to leave the pot with the lid off for 5 minutes. I was worried he would be annoyed at having to then wait five minutes but by the time we had made the other colours the first one was ready.
Each pot also contains decorations that can be added. This is the bit that can get messy if you have kids like mine who shake them out the packet wildly!
The decorations can be added and stirred into the slime in the pot or added in while playing with the slime. My son enjoyed adding them in, the larger decorations add a new textural element to the slime.
You can easily mix and match the decorations and even add the different coloured slime together.
I was impressed that each of the slime’s had a unique pleasant scent that was prominent without being overpowering. It was good to have another sensory aspect to the play with smelling them. The Slime was fun to play with and has lasted well so far.
We even got some requesting in with PECS for the different colours.
Value for money
I think at £9.99 for a pack of three this is good value for money. I would buy this as a gift especially for my niece who is into beauty at the moment.
